It’s been awhile…

It’s been awhile since my last post. I’ve been busy with other toys I have added to my collection and actually using my M28ASR at least a couple of times a week. Some additions to my collection:

I spent quite a while cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and unfreezing frozen parts. I Purchased a brand new table and a refurbished Model 14 Transmitter-Distributor from RTTY Electronics and ended up with a beautiful Model 19 (actually a military TT-7/FG). I still need to get the punch operating correctly. I use this teletype along with a HAL ST-6 Terminal Unit to chat with some of my fellow hams, usually a couple of times a week.

The following photos are of a Model 14 Typing Reperforator that I picked up on eBay. It was pretty dirty when I got it.

After a lot of cleaning and lubrication, I had an operational reperf.

Since I am a ham radio enthusiast, and enjoy vintage equipment, I picked up a Racal TRA-931 backpack military transceiver. I had to replace quite a few parts to get it running again. I also bought a battery pack – had to replace 20 nicad batteries and an original whip antenna.
